Travelling south from Nanaimo we passed through Dodd Narrows into the Gulf Islands. Our first anchorage was Pirate's Cove.
We have heard stories of how busy and congested it can get in Summer. When we arrive we are one of two boats anchored here. The park is spread over a cove and a peninsula. There are trails leading through remnants of old growth forest. The rest of De Courcey Island is private property. We spent our time walking the roads musing on what it would be like to buy a place and live here. The weather continues pretty dry with moderate temperatures.
