Into US of A

We had a very rough crossing of Haro Strait. Fortunately we only had to bash into it for a couple of hours.  Rain was pouring down and it was definitely getting colder.  We did not run into any shipping which was a blessing.
We pulled into the refuge of Roche Harbour and tied up to the dock to clear customs.  Much to our surprise and to the marina staff the customs officer on the phone declared that the customs service was closed.  After scolding me multiple times he agreed to drive over and process us. Later after more scolding and abject apologies from us we were cleared into the USA. Oh yeah, for you subversives planning on infiltrating the USA, please remember that Leonard Cohen was born in Montreal and be prepared to explain why you have so many stamps in your passport.

Later in the day we went for a walk to see the sights.  One of these sights is the sculpture park a short walk out of town.

During the night the weather deteriorated further.  2200 hr saw us out on the dock in the driving snow doubling dock lines and dealing with our errant power cord.  This is the kind of stuff that strengthens the bonds of an already strong relationship.

Anyways we remain tied to the dock until things improve tomorrow.
